چکیده

Noether-Lefschetz divisors in the moduli of K3 surfaces are the loci corresponding to Picard rank at least 2. We relate the degrees of the Noether-Lefschetz divisors to the GromovWitten theory of 1-parameter families ofK3 surfaces. The reduced K3 theory and the Yau-Zaslow formula play an important role. We use results of Borcherds for O(2, 19) lattices and proven mirror transforms to determine the Noether-Lefschetz degrees. In the case of quartic K3 surfaces, the Noether-Lefschetz degrees are proven to be the Fourier coefficients of an explicitly computed modular form of weight 21/2 and level 8. 0. Introduction 0.1. K3 families. Let C be a nonsingular complete curve, and let π : X → C be a 1-parameter family of nonsingular quasi-polarized K3 surfaces. Let L ∈ Pic(X) denote the quasi-polarization of degree ∫

Components of maximal dimension in the Noether-Lefschetz locus for Beilinson-Hodge cycles on open surfaces

In the moduli space M of smooth hypersurfaces of degree d in P over C, the locus of those surfaces that possess curves which are not complete intersections of the given surface with another surface is called the Noether-Lefschetz locus and denoted by MNL. One can show that MNL is the union of a countable number of closed algebraic subsets of M . The classical theorem of Noether-Lefschetz affirm...

We present the Lagrangian whose corresponding action is the trace K action for General Relativity. Although this Lagrangian is second order in the derivatives, it has no second order time derivatives and its behavior at space infinity in the asymptotically flat case is identical to other alternative Lagrangians for General Relativity, like the gamma-gamma Lagrangian used by Einstein. We develop...

Estimate of dimension of Noether-Lefschetz locus for Beilinson-Hodge cycles on open complete intersections

In his lectures in [G1], M. Green gives a lucid explanation how fruitful the infinitesimal method in Hodge theory is in various aspects of algebraic geometry. A significant idea is to use Koszul cohomology for Hodge-theoretic computations. The idea originates from Griffiths work [Gri] where the Poincaré residue representation of the cohomology of a hypersurface played a crucial role in proving ...

Higher Rank Brill–noether Theory on Sections of K3 Surfaces

We discuss the role of K3 surfaces in the context of Mercat’s conjecture in higher rank Brill–Noether theory. Using liftings of Koszul classes, we show that Mercat’s conjecture in rank 2 fails for any number of sections and for any gonality stratum along a Noether– Lefschetz divisor inside the locus of curves lying on K3 surfaces. Then we show that Mercat’s conjecture in rank 3 fails even for c...

Noether Symmetry in f(T) Theory at the anisotropic universe

As it is well known, symmetry plays a crucial role in the theoretical physics. On other hand, the Noether symmetry is a useful procedure to select models motivated at a fundamental level, and to discover the exact solution to the given lagrangian. In this work, Noether symmetry in f(T) theory on a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type I universe is considered. We discuss the Lagran...
